Target
Has the west become a target for anyone with a psychopathic tendency?
Has the west grown too soft?
Is the west guilty of succumbing to the needs of the minority over the security and needs of the majority?
With increasing frustration there is a growing sense of unfairness starting to pervade many areas of the west. At its core is the perception that the pendulum of political correctness has swung too far in favour of specific groups to the detriment of western society. With increasing frustration there is the perception that western society is unwittingly being undermined by its own decision makers. With increasing frustration there is the perception that enough is enough.
Has the west become too accommodating?
In may be perceived we live in a fragmenting world. It may be perceived that in this world extremist groups seemingly slaughter at will. It may be perceived that there are many people and many leaders who refuse to condemn such actions. It may be perceived that by default they allow such barbaric actions to continue - and indeed to gather momentum.
Why are we reaching a state of crisis?
Hampered by political correctness, a willingness not to anger and indeed a certain degree of apathy, has the west grown too soft? Has the west become an easy target for anyone with a psychopathic grudge?
Does the west believe its fragile civilisation is immune to all attacks and incursions, even the most subtle? Has the west’s relative insistence on tolerance actually allowed intolerance to flourish within the very people they seek to give access and shelter to?
And what is the west tolerant to?
It is tolerant to allowing people who hate the west to seep across its borders relatively unchecked. It is tolerant to these people who hate the west to actively condemn the west by word and deed, something they would not be allowed to do in those countries and cultures they proclaim to be perfect.
The issue is not one of immigration. The west has been created through immigration and should always be open to immigration.
The issue is not one of religion or culture. Tolerance and acceptance of others is an integral part of western society.
The issue is one of hospitality being abused with increasing bitterness. The west will always be open to immigration from people who want to make a positive contribution to society. Death and destruction are not positive contributions from that minority who actively hate the west.
Most people who immigrate to the west do so to increase their standard of living and who can blame them? Some don't immigrate to the west simply to increase their standard of living. Some have a very different agenda.
What is the west is tolerant to? It is tolerant to bombs and propaganda while trying to appease.
Throughout history appeasement has not been a successful long term solution. Appeasement is seen as weakness. It adds fuel to the flames of hatred and gives even more reason to attack soft targets throughout the world indiscriminately.
What is the west tolerant of? It is tolerant of the enemy within. The more tolerance there is, the more bloody the enemy becomes. Free speech is good and it is worthwhile. It must also be tempered by common sense. Common sense dictates there are limits. There has to be a limit regarding how people express themselves. Bombs are not a reasonable method of self expression. Have we reached the limit?
The people who hate, the people who kill and destroy and cause unspeakable misery are not following any religion. There is no religion in the world today that accepts such inhumanity, such lack of respect and such consuming hatred. There is no god, no angel and no prophet that calls for wide spread slaughter or the spreading of terror. The people who engage in such acts hide behind the cloak of religion - and we all suffer because of them.
What is the west tolerant of? It is tolerant of inhumanity. This inhumanity is not wanted by the vast majority of people in the world regardless of culture, regardless of religion, regardless of society. It is this inhumanity that should not be tolerated by the west. It should not be tolerated by the east nor the south nor the north. It should not be tolerated.
What will the future hold?
