LOW CARBON DEVELOPMENT - climate change Working smarter. Achieving more.
Global warming and climate change will affect all of us. This isn't just about the changing weather. It is the wider impact of a warming climate that will prove to be significant. This will be one of the most serious developments to take place. You need to protect and secure your activities.
There's something about human nature ... we all think we're safe, don't we? In our modern world many people have a significant disregard for the forces of nature - and our ability to impact nature. The world as we know it is a dynamic system. It doesn't stand still. With the inevitable increase in the greenhouse effect, the extremes of weather and the extreme consequences of weather are predicted to cause increasing damage, disruption and loss of life. This is climate change. It is inevitable. It will have far reaching consequences that will touch the lives of everyone. It isn't just someone else's problem. And ... climate change will mean far more than a warming of the atmosphere. Are you ready for what will take place? How will your business be affected? Let's be realistic: due to a chaotic lack of agreement and concerted action, mankind is unlikely to fully reverse the trend towards a worsening climatic change. There will be consequences. There's something about human nature ... we all think we're safe, don't we? How will this affect you? How will this affect your industry, your country, your future? How can you prepare today for events that will happen in the future? How will you prepare for the impending legislation? The fact is: at some stage the international community will be spurred into action. It is starting to happen in some areas of the world already. This will mean a series of abatement actions to counter the rise in greenhouse gas emissions. The scale and the scope of these actions are likely to be extensive - and costly. They are likely to affect all industries, all consumers which will also give rise to a further series of commercial opportunities as the world shifts from pollution to sustainability. This is an economic imperative. It is also a moral imperative. Your consumers, your staff, your shareholders expect you to have a sense of responsibility for their future. People are waking up to the fact that climate change will create a series of obvious and less obvious consequences. We will all have to move to a low carbon economy. This will be an economic necessity as well as being a moral imperative. It is happening already. And there are a number of clear steps to be taken to ensure cost effective success. Are you ready for the challenges of the low carbon economy? Don't think this is someone else's problem. We are all in this together. Preparations can take a long time. There is much you can start doing now. Do not leave the future to random chance. It is no longer someone else's problem. None of us are as safe as we think we are. Likewise, how do you prepare for an array of climate change disasters? Just what will the disasters entail? What will be the effects? Now is your opportunity to have foresight and begin preparing for the unthinkable. Work with us. Work smarter. Achieve more.
